Crowds sure to follow Pied Piper for Rathmore panto

-

PANTOMIME returns to Rathmore Community Centre this Saturday in the presentation of “The Pied Piper” by the highly accomplished Marian Players.

All involved promise traditional panto at its very best. The staging is a magical, fun-filled adventure brought to patrons by a fabulous cast of characters. And for good measure, it’s bursting with catchy, sing-along songs and topical humour.

Tried and trusted, the traditional panto favourite brings together an all-star cast from both sides of the county bounds promising to serve up the classic story but in the truest sense of pantomime, there are plenty of surprises in store to keep everybody on the edge of their seats.

“The Pied Piper” remains one of the traditional fables, the Marian Player offering updated with all the usual pantomime slapstick and commotion. In a town over-run by rats, Pippin the Pied Piper appears and leads the rats out of town with his pipe music.

But it’s not plain sailing for the villagers, however, as usual good eventually triumphs over evil and with a little help from the Fairy before ultimately all is well again in the village of Hamelin.

Show times for the Rathmore panto are Saturday, January 27 (7.30pm), Sunday, January 28 (3pm); Wednesday, January 31 (7.30pm); Thursday, February 1 (7.30pm), Saturday, February 3( 7.30pm) and Sunday, Febuary 4( 3pm).

All proceeds from this year’s Panto go to Kerry Parents Friends for their new residential unit “Tearmann Lodge”, Rathmore. For more information and booking contact 064-7758526.
