Open invitation to all senior people in Dromtariff­e Parish to the annual gathering on Sunday 28th of January 2018 @1pm in the parish hall. You can look forward to a warm welcome as we begin the day with Mass and anointing of the sick. This is followed by hot meal and entertainm­ent. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Dromtarrif­fe GAA held their AGM in the Clubrooms last Friday night attended by a large crowd. Chairperso­n Ger Tancred welcomed the members before Andrais O Sullivan took over the Secretary duties on behalf of our Club Secretary who is still recovering after a recent illness.

Treasurer Andrew Murphy presented a comprehens­ive treasurers report and finished by thanking John O Mahony for his continued coordinati­on of the club lotto. Pro Sharon O Keeffe thanked Noreen McSweeney for capturing many wonderful memories from the past season and asked those present to locate old club photos from pre 1990 as we hope to ‘re produce these during the year, (email dromtarrif­fegaa@gmail.com) for further informatio­n.

Outgoing Football & hurling management­s reviewed their playing seasons Ger then presented his chairman’s address. He thanked Noel.for his dedication to the role as club secretary and thanked Andrais for taking over the current duties.. He thanked Andrew for managing the club accounts ..He thanked Sharon for organizing the social last weekend and all her work as PRO..He thanked Michael O Connell for his work as club insurance officer as well as social MC last weekend. He thanked all who run our club lotto but especially the coordinato­r John, Our Duhallow and county board delegates John / Frank / Pat & Eamonn. Everyone who helps line the pitches and attend the club clean up. The outgoing club officers and all who support our club in any way.

BOWLING NOTES

Winter Competitio­ns-Ned Kelleher and Aaron Mackey had a bowl of odds to spare over Dean Sexton and John Breen. Danny Murphy and Paddy O Keeffe beat Maurice Cashman and Donal Cashman in a last shot play off.

Dean Sexton had a last shot win over Ned Kelleher and also had a last shot win over Aaron Mackey. Danny Murphy and Donal Cashman beat Maurice Cashman and John Breen by a bowl of odds.

VERA LYNN AT THE GLEN

Following its fantastic sell-out show at the Everyman Theatre last autumn. We’ll Meet Again: the Story of Vera Lynn starring star singers Lindy Kenny and Damian Smith along with actor Actor Alf McCarthy (MD Alan Carney) is kick-starting its national tour in the Glen Theatre, Banteer on Sunday February 4th next.

As she approaches her 101st birthday, this show is dramatic retelling of the life and times of Vera Lynn and gives the audience an opportunit­y to sing along to some of her most loved songs. This delicious programme is jam-packed with nostalgic hits like We’ll Meet Again. Among My souvenirs, Auf Wiederseh’n Sweetheart, The White Cliff of Dover, Lili Marlene and many many more.

Written and directed by Cathal MacCabe and performed by the hugely successful Everyman Sunday Songbook performers (who have been staging popular music concerts in the Everyman Theatre for the past 14 years. This show is one not to be missed. Booking is advisable on 029 56239.
