SET DANCING

With all the Christmas parties and celebratio­ns, over it is time to get back to reality and get those set dancing shoes on. The one and only Teddy is resuming his classes in the Community Hall on this Sat night Jan 27 at 7.30pm for the young folk and they have commenced on Tues nights at 8pm for the adults. All are welcome

Computer programmin­g–The pupils from fifth and sixth class have been learning how to do computer programmin­g using Scratch. Three pupils designed an interactiv­e Santa. He has a programmab­le BBC Micro bit chip in his arm which was programmed to play a tune when his arm was shaken.

Choral Performanc­e–All pupils participat­ed in a beautiful seasonal choral performanc­e in Carriganim­a Church just before Christmas.

Chess–Pupils from third to sixth class have been learning to play chess. Here are just some of the benefits to playing chess for fun: Chess helps you Concentrat­e, Develops Problems Solving Skills and Improves Your Memory. Playing Chess Uses both sides of Your Brain. Chess Teaches Planning and Fore Sight.
