MACROOM GAA ROUND-UP: ADULTS:

The Intermediates played Newcestown in a challenge in Tom Creedon Park recently. The day was fine and underfoot conditions were reasonably good. With a young team, Macroom won 2-12 to 1-7, and this win will boost heart and confidence.

U-21S:

Their scheduled Glenville Cup game against Kilmacabea was cancelled when the West Cork side scratched. Instead Macroom played a challenge match against Kilnamartyra in the Castle Grounds. In spite of a sodden surface, the match was close and entertaining. Kilnamartyra were ahead 0-4 to 0-0 after 15 minutes. Due to an improvement at midfield Macroom came more into it and Caleb Dinneen opened their scoring with a good point. Thereafter the exchanges were even enough and the teams finished on 0-10 each.

JUVENILES:

U-13s to U-16s: ‘Strength and conditioning’ continues on Monday and Thursday nights and attending numbers are increasing.

REGISTRATION NIGHTS:

Juvenile registration for all boys will take place on Friday, February 2 and February 9 in the Pavilion, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Concubhar Murray and Tadg Sheehan canvassed the schools and got a great reception.

MANAGERS’/SELECTORS’ MEETING:

This is scheduled for Thursday night at 9pm. in the pavilion. The juvenile committee would again like to thank all those who supported the Quiz night.
