CBS hurlers and footballers in action

- C.B.S WIN

FOLLOWING the heavy rain last weekend, the CBS Senior B hurlers game with Glanmire Community School was postponed and will now go ahead on Saturday next at a venue to be decided.

This game against Glanmire is a Munster semi final.

The senior B football team were in action on Wednesday last in the Munster quarter final against Abbey CBS in Tipperary and the Mitchelstown team came out on top by 1-9 to 1- 7.

They will now meet St Colman’s Fermoy in the Munster semi final, probably on Saturday February 10. In all the years of Munster Colleges Mitchelstown CBS and St Colman’s Fermoy have never clashed.

FOLLOWING a tough Munster Senior B FC quarter final at Abbey CBS Grounds in Tipperary on Wednesday, Mitchelstown CBS had to pull out all the stops before they claimed a spot in the semi final.

The winners led 1-5 to 0-3 at half time, having played with the wind. Abbey CBS did well on the changeover but they had a number of wides.

The Mitchelstown side kicked some good points and even though they conceded a goal from an injury time penalty they emerged deserving winners by a two point margin.
