CREDIT DUE TO CU QUIZ WINNERS
BRIGHT young brains from National Schools around North Cork pitted their wits against each other at various Credit Union Quiz events during the past week.
Questions such as ‘ how many degrees in each internal angle of an equilateral triangle?’, ‘what is the city formerly known as Bombay called now?’ and ‘in what year was the Great Fire of London?’ tested the knowledge of the children across a wide range of subjects.
With prizes up for grabs in both U11 and U13 categories, the annual Credit Union Schools Quiz has been one of the most popular and successful promotions undertaken by the credit union movement over the past number of years. While the quiz is about encouraging learning and teamwork among young schoolchildren, it is also an opportunity to promote the credit union movement to its members and potential members at a local, regional and national levels.
Local quiz winners go through to the regional finals and regional winners and runners-up (100 teams of four children) compete for the national titles.
