The delicate sound of Pink Floyd at the Cork Opera House
FLOYD FANS ARE GOING TO WISH THEY WERE THERE
HAVING played to sold-out audiences across the country last year, ‘Breathe – The Pink Floyd Experience’ will return to the stage of the Cork Opera House with their new ‘Wish You Were Here’ tour on Friday March 9.
The more that two-hour show will feature a live performance of Pink Floyd’s iconic 1975 album ‘Wish You Were Here’, which included such classic tracks as Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Have A Cigar, and Welcome to the Machine.
The set-list for the new show, a celebration of Pink Floyd’s incredible musical legacy, will also incorporate tracks from other classic albums from 1967s Piper at the Gates of Dawn through to and including 1994s The Division Bell.
These will include Arnold Layne, Another Brick in the Wall, Money, Pigs, Comfortably Numb, the roof raising Run Like Hell and many other tracks that will be instantly recognisable to Floyd fans.
In addition to note-perfect renditions of classic tracks, the show is also a visual tribute to the original band, complete with typically Floydian visuals (including the iconic circular 15ft ‘Pink Floyd’ screen and stunning light show.
Combined in one package, these faithfully recreate the vision, sound and atmosphere of Pink Floyd’s legendary live shows.
The eight-piece band is comprised of some of Ireland’s finest sessions musicians who have played with a ‘who’s who’ of the Irish music industry including Sinead O’Connor, Clannad, Gavin Friday, Jack L, Brian Kennedy, Rebecca Storm, Lesley Garrett, The Irish Tenors, The RTE Concert Orchestra, Brian Downey and Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy).
What draws them together is a passion for Pink Floyd’s music, that each live show is an enthralling psychedelic rock trip memory lane that fans of the original band will not want to miss.
