Local flavour expected at Scór final
A KEY North Cork involvement whets the appetite for an eagerly awaited All Ireland Scór na nÓg Finals in Sligo on Saturday.
Hopefuls from Boherbue, Cullen and Kilshannig along with Carbery Rangers and Clyda Rovers take to the Sligo stage in search of ultimate honours in the hotly competitive national finals.
Promoting the cultural wing of the GAA, the diverse programme of music, song, dance to novelty act draws participants from all four provinces.
For the first time, the finals take place in Sligo, the hosting sure to draw a bumper attendance.

Boherbue carry Cork hopes in the Table Quiz with a team of Thomas Sheehan, Anthony O’Connor, Megan Courtney and Daniel Sheehan return to fsmiliar ground.
Sam Maguires’ Shannon Buttimer looks forward to participating in the demanding recitation class with Carbery Rangers Ballad Group comprising Joan O’Donovan, Aoife McSweeney, Kate Creedon, Rachel Hodnett and Orlagh O’Gorman return to familiar ground.
Cork teams are renowned for their pursuits in Scór na nÓg, the county credited with thirty All Ireland titles under their belt. Boherbue can boost of seven titles, Millstreet on four, Mallow possess three, Carrigaline and Donoughmore hold two apiece and there is one each to Doneraile, Redmonds, Cobh, Ballyphehane, Castletownroche, Clondrohid, Freemount, Ilen Óg, Tadhg McCarthaighs, Ballyclogh, Lisgoold and Buttevant.
Fingers are crossed the tally will rise on Saturday, Cork pinning their hopes on Boherbue, Carbery Rangers, Cullen, Kilshannig and Sam Maguires to deliver the honours in Sligo.
