History as CBS advance onto final with win over Fermoy

MITCHELSTO­WN CBS created history on Saturday when their senior footballer­s reached the Munster final with a facile 3- 10 to 2- 4 win over St Colman’s Fermoy.

Already, the Senior hurlers had reached the correspond­ing decider which takes place this Saturday in Clonmel against Cashel Community School.

On Saturday last the CBS got on top from the start and were 1-7 to 0- 0 ahead after 20 minutes.

At half-time they led 1-7 to 0-2. In the second half they continued to do well and two rapid goals by the outstandin­g Cathal O’Mahony had them out of sight by the end of the third quarter when leading 3 - 7 to 1- 2.

In the end they were victorious by 3-10 to 2-4. CBS footballer­s now meet Pobal Scoil Inbhear Scéine Kenmare in the Munster final on Saturday week at a venue to be decided.
