IRD Duhallow and Jigsaw to offer workshop to coaches on mental health
IRD Duhallow CLG is currently working alongside Cork Jigsaw in the hopes of delivering a number of initiatives to promote Youth Mental Health in Duhallow.
Jigsaw is the National Centre for Youth Mental Health and their aim is to bring about significant change in how Ireland thinks about, responds to and supports young people’s mental health.
Jigsaw offer a 50-minute workshop to coaches or those involved in training young people in a wide variety of sports to help them have a greater understanding of mental health. As a coach or member of a sports club you play an important role in young people’s lives and need to be aware of how to promote and support young people’s mental health in your role. It is for this reason we want to support you as coaches in how to promote positive mental health amongst young people in your community.
Anyone interested in participating in this workshop, which will be delivered in the James O’Keeffe Institute Newmarket, call Helen O’Sullivan on 029 60633 for further info or to book a place.
A date and time to be confirmed once there is sufficient interest from local clubs. There is no cost involved in participating in this workshop.
