Banteer Lyre Juvenile GAA don’t miss out on their big night out
THE Juvenile GAA Clubs from Banteer and Lyre got together to host what has become one of the most popular annual community events in the area at the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow, where 140 attendees enjoyed dinner and a medals presentation ceremony which was rounded off with a lively Disco.
Aisling Healy of the Cork Minor Ladies Football Team that were All Ireland champions last year was on hand to present medals to the victorious teams.
The Camogie club made presentations to Elizabeth Philpott and Kate Foley in recognition of making the U14 and U15 Cork Development squads respectively.
The Ladies football club presented medals to the U12 team who won a North Cork title, the North Cork B League and were also runners up in the County Championship.
The U14s were also victorious in their North Cork Final. The U16’s were unlucky to lose out in a North Cork final and also lost the final of the County Championship but received their runner up medals as well as medals for winning the B league. Donncha Foley presented the Kieran Foley perpetual shield for U16 player of the year to Alan Coughlan in recognition of his contribution to the U16 team’s campaign in 2016.
