Darts fans hit the bullseye
DARTS enthusiasts got to aim for the bullseye in exalted company when two times PDC World Darts Champion Adrian Lewis took centre stage before a large audience at Kilbrin Community Centre recently.
The darts exhibition was organised by Nicholas Corkery, Dromahane, as a fundraiser for Marymount Hospice and Suicide Aware.
There was an opportunity for both budding and seasoned players to pit their skills against one the world’s finest on the night which saw darts fans from the locality and further afield converge on Kilbrin to support the fundraiser.
“It was a brilliant night, everyone enjoyed themselves, Adrian was very entertaining” organiser Nicholas Corkery told the Corkman.
“Twenty people who had fund-raised ahead of the event got the opportunity to play matches against him and Adrian took time to mingle and chat with everyone as well” he said.
Nicholas paid tribute to Stephen Connolly of Bweeng Darts Club, Claire Buttimer, Manager of Kilbrin Social Club, and everyone else who helped organise the event which raised much needed funds for both Marymount Hospice and Suicide Aware.
