Liam’s art earns special merit

LIAM Allen from St.Colman’s BNS, Kanturk, has been awarded a Merit in the 8 to 10 years category for the 2017 Credit Union Art Competition! Liam received his prize in the Hogan Mezzanine at Croke Park on Sunday 11th February.

Liam was joined by his family and other prize-winners from around the country on the day. He was one of 32 selected from an initial entry of over 30,000.

His prize was presented by the delightful Marty Whelan and Charles Murphy, President of the Irish League of Credit Unions.

This is a huge achievement as Liam won 1st prize at both local and chapter level and has been awarded a Merit Award at National Level.

His picture of the peacock was inspired by a Summer visit to Fota where the peacocks put on a colourful display. Liam loves painting and drawing and attends the Amanda Wright Art School in Ballydaly. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement once again!
