Charleville on brink of return to Division 2
THE J3 season is almost done for Charleville and they will be happy enough with their tally to this point. Currently sitting second, the men in red and white will be eager to take maximum points from their remaining fixture which may well be enough to see them back to the J2 at the first time of asking.
The J3 is a much more competitive division than it used to be with the likes of Charleville, Fethard and District and Tralee all coming down from higher grades in recent years.
Charleville are joined by another north Cork side, Fermoy, at this grade. Fermoy have impressed in spurts this season but have as of yet failed to break into the promotion places. With games in hand the men in green have every chance of going up however some serious performances in their remaining games are imperative as there are at least five sides that will still fancy their chances of taking one of the two promotion places.
Overall, to this point, it has been a challenging season for the local junior rugby sides but some late wins and a bit of luck all round could turn a struggle into a success in a matter of a 80 minutes.
