Player of the Month awards for Utd boys

TWO Cork Schoolboys League player of the month awards came Mallow United’s way last week with Cathal Mullins being named U/12 Player of the Month for February and Donncadh O’Doherty being named U/14 Player of the Month for January, a great achievement for both players.

Cathal plays in an attacking position for the Mallow United U/12 Premier Division team and is also a member of the Cork Schoolboys League U/12 squad who are unbeaten in the Munster section of the SFAI Interleague Championship.

Donncadh plays in a defensive or midfield position for Mallow United U/14s is a also a member of both the Cork Schoolboys League U/14 and the Republic of Ireland U/15 squads.

Donncadh and his Mallow United U/14 team mates have a big fixture this weekend as they face Cregmore Claregalway FC in the quarter final of the National Cup. The game takes place in Charleville on Sunday, March 18th with a 3pm kick-off.

There is just over a week to go to the Mallow United/FAI Soccer Sisters Easter Camp for girls age 6 to 14. The camp takes place on Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27 from 10am to 2pm at St. Mary’s Secondary School.

At the camp the girls will be guaranteed two fun filled days as they develop their footballing skills and learn the benefits of team work.
