Singer Muireann is the toast of Munster

KANTURK’S Muireann Vaughan is the toast of Munster following her success in the provincial Scor sinsear finals at Cappamore, Co. Limerick on Saturday last.

Having won the Cork Scor finals two weeks previously in the Solo Singing competitio­n, Muireann, who is a Leaving Cert student at Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk, took the Munster GAA Scor Sinsear title in fine style and now travels to Sligo on April 14 to contest the All Ireland finals.

SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE:

Kanturk make their bow in the RedFM Senior Hurling league on Saturday, 17th March with a home tie against Sarsfields at 11.30am and travel to Na Piarsaigh in Cork on Wednesday, 21st March for their second league tie at 7.45pm.

U21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSH­IP;

Kanturk face off with Dromtarrif­fe in round two of the Duhallow U21FC on Monday 19th March at Kanturk 4pm.

In juvenile GAA affairs, Brinny is the venue for Wolfe Tones first Rebel Og Central U16P2Fl against Valley Rovers 3pm and on Monday our U14 footballer­s have home advantage against Blarney in the Rebel Og North U14B1 FL 3pm. Fixtures;
