FÉILE LACHTAÍN NAOFA

Féile Lachtaín Naofa began with Mass, during which young members of Craobh Lachtaín Naofa of Comhaltas played some amazing instrumentals and solos. Sleety showers did their best to dampen the parade but it went ahead led by the pupils of Scoil Lachtaín Naofa and the Naoinra. Deirdre’s Céili and set dancers along with Rinceoirí Seite Scoil Lachtain Naofa followed.

Banna Lachtaín Naofa played their hearts out in the blizzard. Naomh Abán Ladies along with Cumann Peile Chill na Martra displayed their numerous items of silverware. Vintage cars and tractors brought up the rear. Special mention must be made of the two tractors without cabs. However, a shortcut was taken to the Ionad Pobail, where Anne and her team had lots of steaming drinks and lovely refreshments.

Meanwhile, Banna Lachtaín Naofa got a great Session under way. Deirdre’s Céili and set dancers along with Rinceoirí Scoil Lachtaín Naofa put on a most professional display. Scór na nÓg entries also put on a mighty show. There were many individual performances during a long Session, which continued later at O’Murchú’s. Míle buíochas do gach éinne, a chabhraig in aon slí.

PENITENTIAL SERVICE
