MALLOW United U/14s who finished runners up in the Football Cup Barcelona last weekend and host St Kevin’s Boys in the National Cup semi-final this Saturday at Mallow Town Park. It is not too often the Town Park in Mallow sees an All-Ireland semi-final but this Saturday April 14 Mallow United will host the mighty St Kevin’s Boys of Dublin in the SFAI U/14 National Cup semi-final with a 2pm kick-off.

St. Kevin’s Boys are one of Irelands most successful and well-known schoolboy clubs having produced the likes of Liam Brady, Damien Duff, Ian Harte and more recently Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady.

The Mallow boys however will not be intimidated having established a reputation of their own in recent years. The Mallow United U/14 team finished runners up two years ago in the U/12 National Cup and includes two members of the Ireland U/15 international squad.

They currently lie in second place in the Cork Schoolboys League Premier Division and have just returned from Spain where they established themselves on the international stage finishing runners up in the Football Cup Barcelona, an elite competition for teams from throughout Europe.

Mallow United is inviting the local community to come down to the Town Park this Saturday afternoon to get behind the Mallow boys and enjoy the high quality football on offer.

Meanwhile, a big congratulations to Mallow United’s Niamh Williams who was selected as part of the Cork Schoolgirls U/12 panel for their Interleague Blitz which takes place this Saturday in Colaiste Stiofain Naofa.

Niamh is part of the Mallow United U/12 girls squad who have put in some great performances and reached the quarter final of the U/12 Girls Cork Cup run.
