Thriving local co-op at the heart of the community

-

Boherbue Co-op is a vibrant independent co-operative located in north west Cork and is a vital part of the local economy and local community.

Its business is primarily milk, agri-supplies and food retailing. With an annual turn-over of €20.5 million Boherbue Co-op is a pivotal business in the Duhallow landscape and, indeed, employer too, with over 40 staff.

This diversely talented team is headed up by CEO Declan O’Keeffe and society chairperson Patrick Murphy.

Within Boherbue itself the co-op stores and SuperValu supermarket are a major focus point – not just for Boherbue but the entire district.

Such is the level of activity at the co-op’s retail park in Boherbue that it is divided into three main divisions: the large SuperValu store, Farm store and ARRO home & garden centre.

The SuperValu not only includes a supermarket, open seven days a week, but also full forecourt service and newsagents, with regular late opening for customers’ convenience.

The ARRO Home & Garden centre includes not just household goods but also supplies a full range of paints, plumbing materials and electrical goods to the local community. The centre also supplies building materials to professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts alike.

The Farm Store is a key supplier to the local farming community and includes a full range of feed stuffs, fertilisers, animal health products and farm chemicals.
