Busy times at comprehensive school
Exams and awards are perhaps the theme of the month at Boherbue Comprehensive School, which is a thriving facility at the epicentre of not only the village but also the entire local district.
This week the Leaving Cert students faced into their LCVP exam, Engineering Practical exam and had a visit from the Leaving Cert AG Science Inspector. Later this month, after another busy school year, Boherbue Comprehensive will celebrate its students’ achievements at the annual awards ceremony, one of the highlights of the school year.
Boherbue Comprehensive School was opened in 1973 as a co-educational, non-selective post-primary school and over the past 45 years has endeavoured ‘ to give the best education and service to its pupils and community based on Christian Values that will help all who come in contact with the School to reach their full potential’.
In the past month the school’s Transition Years students spent a very enjoyable day at the Munster Driving School doing a Drivers Ed course. Students got to complete a practice theory test, hone their driving skills on the extensive driving track and learn practical skills like changing a tyre. A very enjoyable day was had by all.
Meanwhile, Transition Year students are also currently visiting Araglen House to interact with the residents. This is a very enjoyable experience as they get to speak, play games and read with the residents.
