Promotion for Utd’s U15a side

-

MALLOW United’s U15A team secured promotion last weekend when a 0-0 draw at home to Ballinhassig on Sunday was enough to finish runners up in Cork Schoolboys League Division 5.

With an impressive record of eight wins, two draws and only a single defeat, promotion for the Mallow boys is well deserved.

Mallow United U/12 girls progressed to the final of the CWSSL Shield with a convincing win over Park United at St. Mary’s on Friday evening. Mallow were in dominant form, putting six past their opponents from Mitchelstown with Lois Asante getting all the Mallow goals.

The reward for Mallow is a trip to Turners Cross where the final will be played on Tuesday, May 21 with a 6pm kick-off.

Mallow United U/13B had a great win over Kinsale on Saturday in the Academy Pitch. Mallow went a goal down after ten minutes but Anthony Jenks pulled one back after 20 minutes and the game was tied 1-1 at half-time.

Mallow got the upper hand in the second half with Jenks scoring two more to complete his hat-trick and Liam Walsh getting a fourth for the home side. Final score: Mallow United 4 - Kinsale 1. The three points keeps Mallow in second place in Division 4 of the Cork Schoolboys League and firmly in the hunt for promotion.
