Stylish décor and scenic surrounds at River’s Edge

-

THE River’s Edge Guest House and Nicks Restaurant work perfectly together. Guests have the option of dining at Nicks, while diners enjoying a night out in Killorglin can choose to stay in the comfortable River’s Edge which, true to its name, boasts of some stunning views of the Laune.

The Houlihan family took the reins of the famous Killorglin landmark in August 2017 and in that time they have renovated it with plush new furnishings and colour schemes. One of the best forms of advertising in any business is word of mouth and this is one establishment that benefits from making guests comfortable.

It built up a huge reputation under the previous proprietors and Sean and Sinead plan to enhance this. The couple spent much of the closed season renovating a new lounge and dining area overlooking the river.

“People have complimented this view saying it adds a lovely calming and tranquil feel. The river has its own magic and the design and layout of the guest house very much incorporates the river. People have described it as ‘a piece of heaven’,” said Sean.

Moreover, bookings remain very vibrant and in the past few weeks alone some of Ireland’s top bands, comedians, an ex-Taoiseach, an EastEnders actor have all stayed there.

“We’re all set for a busy summer and everything is brand new from furniture to bathroom fittings, flat screen TVs in rooms, a new lobby and dining area. Customers now have that peace of mind knowing everything is ready and in place to make their stay and enjoyable one.”
