Young film-makers bootcamp workshops
ALWAYS wanted to make a movie? Well, cameras will start to roll for young people in two venues in North Cork very shortly.
Week-long workshops in Macroom and Mallow are available for 13 to 19-year olds who are interested in any aspect of film-making and who want a chance to try different roles and develop new skills.
Participants will learn and experience a wide variety of different aspects of film-making in a hands-on, fun and interactive workshop. Work alongside professional film-makers from Cork Film Centre, over five days to explore, learn and create short film.
Film-making isn’t a solo activity so participant will meet other, like-minded young people.
Young people get to make a film and learn new skills to take home. It’s all about having fun, building confidence, encouraging creativity and self-expression.
For many this experience is creating pathways into college, university and the film industry. All will have an opportunity to showcase their short films at special Festival and Gala Film events.
The bootcamps will take place at McEgan College, Macroom on June 25-29, and at the Big Blue Cube in Mallow, on July 9-13.
To apply, e-mail: corkyoungfilmmakers@gmail.com immediately with your name, contact details; address/tel. no, age and briefly outline any experience you have, and why you feel this course is for you. The closing date is Monday, June 18.
