Busy week for cyclists

LAST week saw members of the O’Leary Stone Kanturk Cycling Club head to Fermoy for the Cork County Road Races on Tuesday night.

Wednesday saw our senior members head to Limerick and Racecourse for the Limerick Open Criterium Championsh­ips. On Saturday both youth and seniors headed to Birdhill where North Tipperary Wheelers hosted the Munster Time Trial Championsh­ips.

Sunday saw the members head to Midleton for the Velo Revolution Grand Prix race. The club brought home plenty of silverware.

At Limerick Open Criterium Championsh­ip 55 riders competed for one hour plus 3 laps. There was a break of 4 riders and junior Tom O’Connor finished 3rd overall, well ahead of the bunch. Results of Munster Time Trial Championsh­ips:

Meanwhile, junior Tom O’Connor took part in the Junior Tour of Scotland, while Eddie Dunbar competes in his first World Tour stage race as part of the Aqua Blue Sport team in the Tour de Suisse.
