Busy week for cy­clists

LAST week saw mem­bers of the O’Leary Stone Kan­turk Cycling Club head to Fer­moy for the Cork County Road Races on Tues­day night.

Wed­nes­day saw our se­nior mem­bers head to Lim­er­ick and Race­course for the Lim­er­ick Open Cri­terium Cham­pi­onships. On Satur­day both youth and se­niors headed to Bird­hill where North Tip­per­ary Wheel­ers hosted the Mun­ster Time Trial Cham­pi­onships.

Sun­day saw the mem­bers head to Mi­dle­ton for the Velo Rev­o­lu­tion Grand Prix race. The club brought home plenty of sil­ver­ware.

At Lim­er­ick Open Cri­terium Cham­pi­onship 55 riders com­peted for one hour plus 3 laps. There was a break of 4 riders and ju­nior Tom O’Connor fin­ished 3rd over­all, well ahead of the bunch. Re­sults of Mun­ster Time Trial Cham­pi­onships:

Re­sults of Cork County Road Race and Velo Rev­o­lu­tion Grand Prix to fol­low.

Mean­while, ju­nior Tom O’Connor took part in the Ju­nior Tour of Scot­land, while Ed­die Dun­bar com­petes in his first World Tour stage race as part of the Aqua Blue Sport team in the Tour de Suisse.
