ANDY Aylward has been appointed Michelin’s Retail Programme

Manager for Ireland and the UK, overseeing its network of more than 80 accredited car and motorcycle dealers, which are each Michelin Certified Centres.

The 30-year Michelin man was previously at the helm of the company’s two-wheel retail programme – and he’s now looking to replicate his success across the car tyre sector as well.

‘ This will be a programme that works with customers on an individual level. I’m not looking at a heavy top-down approach,

I’ll be looking from a customer level up – asking them the question,

‘What do you need us to do?’, he said.

Aylward, 48, became Customer Business Development Manager for motorcycle across the UK, Ireland and Nordics in October 2014.

He began his long-serving Michelin career as a production worker in the factory before branching out into roles within customer service, invoicing, IT and sales support. Subsequently, he became a car account manager and business development manager. FIAT Ireland has announced that customers can now benefit from a new pricing structure that will mean petrol and diesel variants for its Tipo Family are now aligned. This action means that the entry price for the Tipo Family will now be the Sedan Easy version at €17,995 (or the Hatchback Pop version for the same price) for both the 95hp petrol and diesel versions (petrol 1.4 95hp, diesel 1.3 95hp).

The Fiat Tipo is available as a 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback and as a station wagon offering drivers a choice of outstanding value cars to suit their needs. The Tipo comes standard with air conditioning, Uconnect™ radio with 5-inch display and voice commands.

The Fiat Tipo recently celebrated 30 years of functionality, simplicity and personality. The original model was launched to the public on 26 January 1988. It employed innovative manufacturing technologies and high-quality materials to guarantee reliability and quality, including a lightweight, corrosion-free plastic boot hatch.

Any customer, existing or new can take full advantage of the ‘Fiat Welcome Bonus’ offers of up to €2,500 for registrations by July 31, 2018 on top of the diesel : petrol price match.

The Tipo family starts with the 1.4-litre 95hp Fire petrol engine. Combined with a manual transmission, it produces 133g/km CO2 while returning 5.7/100km on the combined cycle and travelling from zero to 100kph in 11.5 seconds. The 1.3 M-Jet 95hp diesel with a manual transmission, it produces 98g/km CO2 while returning 3.7 l/100km on the combined cycle and travelling from zero to 100kph in 11.7 seconds.
