Late flourish sees Kilshannig collect U-12 title

BREATH-TAKING stuff from start to finish before Kilshannig snatched a thrilling two point victory over Millstreet in the Kelly Brothers Rebel Óg North Cork U12AI Hurling League Final played in Banteer.

From an absorbing and fast paced tussle, both sides gave it their all yet crucially Kilshannig finished stronger to deliver telling scores to sway a marvellous tussle. Right from the off, Kilshannig laid down a marker, excellent combined hurling allowed Ben Noonan , Den Joe O’Riordan and Kevin Connolly find the net.

Millstreet regrouped and made a game of it , goals by Cian Denis O’Connor and Fionn O’Dwyer cut the deficit 6-0 to 3-4 at the break. And the Millstreet improvement continued on the turn around, goals from O’Connor and Stephen Lyons g nudged Millstreet ahead.

The closing 10 minutes made for an engaging spectacle, Kilshannig rallying brilliantly , a Jack O’Hanlon goal squared up matters before points from Noonan and O’Hanlon decided the outcome of a compelling contest.
