Easy win for Dromina against Buttevant

DROMINA were convincing winners over Buttevant in the Hibernian Hotel JAHC at Charleville on Sunday. The winners gained control in defence and midfield from the start and their attack in regular supply took some very good scores. Brian Buckley was in great scoring form.
By the fifth minute Dromina with points by Brian Buckley (2) and Diarmuid Buckley led 0-3 to 0-0. Kevin O’Keeffe pointed a Buttevant ‘65’ and followed with a free. By the end of the first quarter Dromina led 0-5 to 0-3. Kevin O’Keeffe with a good point left just the minimum between the sides.
After 23 minutes Dromina led 0-7 to 0-6. The winners had a goal when Richard Morrissey, Michael Naughton and Brian Buckley combined with the latter having his shot at goal saved by Jonathan Hallihan with the rebound falling to Darragh Buckley who goaled 1-7 to 0-6. Paddy Burke followed with a point Buttevant had three wides with Brian Buckley with a late pointed ‘65 edging his side double scores clear at the break 1-9 to 0-6.
Chris O’Toole pointed for Buttevant on the resumption. Dromina upped their performance and a series of points had them 1-17 to 0-8 clear by the 45th minute. Diarmuid Buckley and Kevin O’Keeffe (free) swopped a point. The winners had their second goal by Pat Hayes after good work by Darragh Buckley 2-18 to 0-9. Both sides made a number of substitutions with Dromina adding a further 6 points while Buttevant had late points by Kevin O’Keeffe and Seamus Madigan.
