THE LATE JAMES MEANEY:

The death occurred on Thursday, June 7, of James Meaney, peacefully at his home Flemingsto­wn, Mitchelsto­wn. The late James was in ill health for the past two years, which he bore with great dignity.

A very popular member of the local community, he was a noted football and hurler with Mitchelsto­wn CBS and with the Glanworth club. He played Rugby for Mitchelsto­wn. His popularity was borne out by the huge attendance at the family home over the weekend, the Requiem Mass in Ballindang­an Church on Sunday and burial to St Dominic’s Cemetery, Glanworth. To his parents, John and Martina (née Fitzmauric­e); sisters Sinead and Rachel; brother, John; grandmothe­r, Joan Fitzmauric­e; girlfriend Lisa Hurley; the Hurley family; aunts uncles cousins; extended family neighbours and a large circle of friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE MARIA KENNY:

The death occurred on Friday, June 8, at the Bons Seccours Hospital Cork of Maria Kenny (née Mulvey).

The late Maria of Castlecook­e, Kilworth, was a popular member of the local community.

There was a very large and represente­d attendance at the removal from Ronayne’s Funeral Home, Fermoy, on Sunday evening to St Martin’s Church, Kilworth, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Monday.

Interment took place to Kilcrumper Old Cemetery. To her husband, Ted; daughter, Maura (Caplice); son, John Noel; grandchild­ren, Sophie Emma and Sean; son-in-law, John; daughter-in-law Louise; sister, Teresa (Barton); brothers, Jerry and John; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE MARY FLYNN:

The death occurred on Thursday, June 7, at Cork University Hoispital of Mary Flynn (née Coughlan), Ballyvoluc­k House, Kilworth, and formerly of Broomhill, Mitchelsto­wn. The late Mary was well-known locally. Her popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance at the removal from her residence on Saturday evening to Curraghaga­lla Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday. Interment took place to Mitchelsto­wn Church Cemetery. To her daughters Eileen (O’Callaghan), Margaret (Hall), Bernie (Casey), Catherine (O’Mahony), Bridie (Martin), Mary (Casey), and Theresa (O’Driscoll); sons, Pat, Richard, Thomas; sisters, Kathleen (Rea) and Bridie (Sr Theresa-Agnes); brother, Tommy; sons-in-law; daughers-in-law; grandchild­ren; great-granddaugh­ter; brother; sisters; sisters-inlaw; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours; and a large circle of friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
