My tanning experiment for the wedding

-

As some of you know I have a wedding soon. I have a dilemma. What to do about a tan? I want to have a bit of colour; I don’t want to be pasty white on the day.

My options are a sun holiday (not likely to happen, a self-tanning lotion, or to get a spray tan - but I have to admit I’m terrified about trying this.

I decided to be brave and do an experiment. I went to a local beautician for a spray tan. She listened to my fears about putting chemicals on my skin. And she calmed me down and told me that the tan she uses is organic, non-toxic, paraben free, and that it contains plenty of natural ingredients to moisturise and hydrate the skin. She promised me that I wouldn’t come out orange or streaky.

I did the patch test, and prepared my skin as recommended by

Diane, the beautician, then exfoliated and moisturised.

The exfoliator and the moisturiser I used were a lovely Irish made range. Seavite illuminating and firming body exfoliator, and Seavite firming and toning Body lotion.I needn’t have worried, the tan turned out gorgeous. It was a beautiful natural looking glowing tan, with an even golden colour. A success - I was very happy with the spray tan.

For my second experiment I tried Organic Vegan Lavera Self-Tanning Lotion, I thought I might be too lazy for self-tanning, but vanity knows no bounds. I did a patch test, exfoliated, and moisturised. I was surprised how easy it was to use. You need to wait a couple of hours for the colour to develop fully.

The disadvantage of self-tanning is in doing the parts that you cannot reach. But it’s perfect for the legs, neck and arms. I was very happy with the results. It turned out a lovely colour, very smooth natural looking glow. Success again.

My conclusion is that I will get the spray tan done for the wedding day. That way I can be sure that I won’t have any flaws and that the tan would be nice and even.

I will use the Organic Lavera Self-Tanning Lotion to keep up the natural glow. I think I have found a perfect solution, one that’s far cheaper than a trip to the sun!

Dilemma solved!
