ART AND DRAMA

A fun-filled Art and Drama camp will run from the 23rd to the 27th of July this Summer in the Freemount Heritage Centre. The camp runs from 10am to 1pm daily at a cost of €65 per child.

The camp is run by Mike Guerin who teaches drama classes locally and has been writing, acting and directing for over twenty years. Bríd Moynahan, who designs all the arts and crafts, has been a practicing artist for fifteen years and has run several art camps over the years.

The camp is open to national school children and there is a limited number of spaces to ensure a high adult:child ratio so book your place with Mike on 087 4124741 to avoid disappoint­ment.

CHARITY CYCLE

Brú Columbanus at Wilton, Cork City,provides accommodat­ion free of charge for relatives of seriously ill patients in Cork Hospitals or in The Hospice.

D.D. Nagle our local cycling enthusiast will cycle The Ring of Kerry on July 7th.to help raise funds for this worthy charity thereby ensuring that relatives can be helped if ever they are faced with the trauma of having somebody seriously ill in hospital . You can help by sponsoring D.D.on his journey around The Ring of Kerry. Sponsorshi­p Cards are in Casey’s Shop and in Barry’s Bar.

COMHALTAS

The weekly Seisiún will commence in The Heritage Centre on Wednesday night July 18th.at 8.30pm. As usual we have music singing dancing and storytelli­ng and craic.

This year as usual we will have a guest each week. On Wednesday night July 18th. We have Sean Ó Sé. Make a note of the date and come early.

THURSDAY CLUB OUTING

MACRA

Freemount Macra made a cheque presentati­on recently to Temple Streets Children Hospital and Marymount Hospice. Each charity received €2750 which was raised during The Freemount Tractor Run which was held Sunday 8th April. We would like to thank all those involved.

Freemount Macra were announced winners of Avondhu Club of the Year at the Avondhu Awards night on Monday 11th June.Well done to club members Ann Fitzgerald, Thomas Stritch, Sinead Guiney and Brid Ann O’ Donoghue who represente­d the club in interviews.

Our AGM was held Thursday 31st May in Freemount Hall. Thanks to all those who attended. Would like to thank our outgoing officers for all their hard work and wish our new officers the best for year ahead.On the night our Chairperso­n Eileen Murphy makes a presentati­on to Mary Ann Murphy for all her commitment and dedication as her role of National Council Representa­tive.
