‘Fantastic’ €50k for Clondrohid GAA in recent CLÁR funding

- MARIA HERLIHY

A hefty €50,000 cheque will make its way to Clondrohid GAA under the CLÁR funding programme.

At the Blarney Macroom Municipal District meeting on Friday last, Cllr Michael Creed (FG) welcomed the €50,000 for the local club. The CLÁR programme is a targeted investment programme which provides funding for small-scale infrastructural projects in rural areas that have suffered the greatest levels of population decline.

The aim of CLÁR is to support the sustainable development of identified CLÁR areas by attracting people to live and work there.

The funding works in conjunction with local funding and on locally identified priorities.

Clondrohid GAA received the good news from Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed on Facebook, when he posted: “Good News for Clondrohid GAA this morning with €50,000 granted for footpaths and car parking facilities under CLÁR.” In response the club said the news was “Fantastic”.
