Gearing up for the ninth annual Liz Lucey Vintage Run

THE ninth annual Liz Lucey Memorial Vintage Run, Walk and Cycle in aid of Marymount Hospice will take place on July 8 in Inchigeela Co. Cork.

Great routes have been organised allowing participan­ts view the scenery available locally.

This event includes an open tractor run, vintage/classic car run, cyclists, walkers and motorcycle­s.

Registrati­on for tractors, cars and motorcycle­s is at 11.30am sharp at Inchigeela Hall.

“This year we have three cycles: a 20km, 35km and 75km route. Registrati­on for the 20km and 35km will be at 11.30am and the 75km route starts at 09.00am,” a spokespers­on for the organising committee said.

This year the Valley Wheelers Cycling Club are supporting the Liz Lucey Memorial Cycle. The 75km route will be the VWCC spin for that weekend.

Registrati­on for walkers will take place at Inchigeela GAA Pitch at 1pm with scenic walks for all levels from beginners to well-seasoned walkers.

Refreshmen­ts will be served on the day, followed by a monster raffle with some fabulous prizes to be won including afternoon tea for two at the Bantry House and Gardens, signed cookbooks from Neven Maguire and Donal Skehan, Family passes for Dublin Zoo and Fota Wildlife Park.

The day will end with a trad session in the Creedon’s Hotel Inchigeela from 6pm.
