Festival is set to support Special Needs Association
Plans are at an advanced stage for the annual Cullen and District Special Needs Association Old Time Threshing and Vintage Festival on Sunday, July 15, on the grounds of Cullen GAA Ground, commencing at 1pm.
For the 20th hosting, all kinds of vintage tractors, cars and engines are promised for a fun day geared at all the family in an idyllic setting. It has become a fixed event in the north Cork and Sliabh Luachra calendar. Coinciding with the threshing, Duhallow Vintage Club are hosting a Tractor Run from Newmarket, departing from 10am to 12pm, bound for Cullen. In addition to the vintage display, there are kid’s sports, giant football darts, face painting, lucky dip and butter-making exhibition, with tickets to be won for Daniel O’Donnell and Nathan Carter Shows.
This fundraising event is enjoyable and vital to the financial standing of the Cullen and District Special Needs Association. With cuts to public funding, much ongoing voluntary effort is required to maintain services for Special Needs at the current level. All monies collected will be distributed to the various groups caring for Cullen Special Friends.
