Ballyhea into minor final

THIS win for Ballyhea in the Rebel Og MAHL at Ballyhea on Thursday evening ensures a place in the final against Kanturk.
From the start the winners dominated with Jamie Copps and Jack Morrissey very effective up front. Jamie Copps opened with a point with Thomas Foley adding another soon after.
Jack Morrissey had a goal and followed with a quick point as the home side led 1 -3 to 0- 0. Thomas Foley forced Charleville keeper Conor Reynolds to make a splendid save with the rebound going over.
Oran O’Connell opened Charleville’s account after 12 minutes with Conor Buckley pointing a free as Ballyhea led 1-7 to 0-2. Good play by Thomas Foley led to a Jamie Copps goal.
Jamie Copps and Jack Morrissey worked well for William Shanahan who goaled and opened up a big lead 3-7 to 0-2. Both sides exchanged points with Jack Morrissey edging the winners 3 -11 to 0-4 clear after 25 minutes.
Oran O’Connor added a long range Rathluirc point. In the closing moments Jamie Copps pointed and deep in injury time he placed Jack Morrissey for a goal that had Ballyhea 4-12 to 0-5 clear at the break.
The winners made four replacements for the second half. Thomas Foley pointed with Joe Herbert replying for Charleville. Evan O’Connor and Conor Buckley had points for Charleville. Ballyhea full-back Adam Barrett was in great form while both keepers did very well.
William Shanahan pointed for Ballyhea with Jamie Copps adding a pointed free. In the closing moments Dylan Donoghue pointed for the winners with Evan O’Connor completing the scoring.
