CANON Tim O’Leary, Mitchelstown, has served 60 years in the Priesthood.

On Saturday night last, there was a celebration in recognition of his long and dedicated service.

The usual 7.30pm Mass was celebrated by Canon Michael Fitzgerald PP along with Canon Tim O’Leary, Fr Gabriel Burke CC, Fr Brendan Mallon CC and Fr Joe O’Brien.

Community Council Chairman Sean Finn and three girls from the local Presentation School made a presentation to Canon Tim in recognition of his long and dedicated service.

They also presented some flowers to his sister, who made the journey for the occasion, much to everyone’s delight.

Over the past 24 years, Canon O’Leary has served the people of the parish generously and selflessly.

There was a very large attendance present.

The Pastoral Council held a social evening in Forrest Hall New Square. Sincere thanks to all who helped out in any way.
