Religious Community of four Sisters to be set up

-

MITCHELSTOWN Parish has announced that a Religious Community of four Sisters will be established in Mitchelstown on Saturday September 22.

The Community was founded in Spain, but has members from many different countries, including Ireland.

Bishop William Crean has welcomed the Community to the Diocese and has given his blessing to the establishment in Mitchelstown.

For now, the Community will reside in a rented property in New Square, known as Kingston Hall.

The parish will give basic maintenance to the Community and also welcomes the support of the people of the parish.

It is hoped the Sisters will help the Priests and people of the parish, in the work and growth of the faith, especially among the youth.

The Sisters will participate in the Spiritual and community life of the parish. The Community was founded particularly to promote devotion to the Eucharist, devotion to Our Lady, and to support the youth in their journey of faith.

The Community was founded in September 1984 and now has 145 Sisters from various countries.
