COFFEE MORNING
On this Saturday morning, July 7, you have the opportunity to support a very worthwhile cause when Maria McSweeney, Gneeves hosts a coffee morning in the Pearse Memorial Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Maria, a third level student in Limerick flies out to Tanzania in August to do voluntary work in Mbeya orphanage for young children. It is important to state that Maria has paid for her own flight and accommodation and all money raised will go directly to the children in the orphanage so your support will help in no small way to improve standards and bring a little bit of fun into their lives. There is so much credit due to Maria and the other volunteers who devote their time and energy to causes such as this and we congratulate her on her endeavour and wish her a safe journey.
Go along some time between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy a cuppa, taste some cakes, scones and tarts and you too will be playing your part.

MAN UTD SUPPORTERS
A membership night organised by the Killarney Branch of Manchester United Supports Club takes place on Monday night next, July 9 in Billy Murphy’s Bar 9 p.m. New members welcome. this event still draws a huge crowd where people can meet and enjoy the days of old in a relaxed atmosphere.
This fundraising event is both enjoyable and vital to the financial standing of the Special Needs Association. All money raised will be distributed to the various groups caring for our Special Friends. The downturn in the economy has had a substantial impact on organisations and centres, they would not be in a position to deliver the range of quality services without the goodwill and generousity of local communities, thus support for fundraising activities are a valuable and vital source on income, in enabling people with intellectual and physical disabilities to live fulfilling lives and reach their full potential.
An event like this does not happen without support and help from the community, the committee would like to thank and pay tribute to the many people who have given generously of their time, their talents and their resources over the years to help us in our fundraising efforts, so once again we call on volunteers to get involved, for whatever amount of time that they can help with tasks to make this the best ever afternoon.
