The Corkman

Electricity supply & renewable energy solutions for your business or home, on your doorstep

-

WATERPOWER was founded by Dan Twomey in 2002 following his work on hydro-electricity stations across the country.

In 2003 the business focus changed after he secured a licence from the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) to trade excess energy. This meant that Waterpower could supply electricity to domestic and commercial customers and purchase electricity from other small renewable electricity generators. Waterpower are now 16 years in business and is at the forefront of renewable energy solutions.

Following on from the success on the Electricity Market we are proud to officially launch our Solar PV business. All our services are available nationwide.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Dan Twomey , a qualified Electrician built his first hydroelectric station in 1985 to provide electricity to his home in Banteer. It was his pioneering spirit of resourcefulness that drove him to start designing and building hydro stations throughout Ireland, from Belfast to Kerry.

In 1997 Dan was appointed by Cork Corporation (now Cork City Council ) to convert the Old Water Turbines into Electricity generators to supply to their many electricity accounts

Waterpower has been involved in the energy business for many years across three sectors of business – energy supply, energy generation and consultancy.
