SHOW ON THIS SUNDAY

Banteer Show, Country Market and Family Fun Day will take place in Banteer Community Centre on next Sunday, July 15th commencing at 2 p.m. There will be an extensive exhibition with 69 show classes covering arts and crafts, baking, vegetables, paintings, flowers and plants, photography and many others. Again this year, Mr. William Cronin of Oaklands Garden Centre, Kanturk has kindly sponsored vouchers to the value of €150 as special prizes in the vegetable and flower classes as follows:

Class 15 Flowering Shrub, 3 different stems €50 garden centre voucher to 1st place

Class 25–Rose of the Show €50 garden centre voucher to 1st place

The remaining €50 will be awarded to the class or classes that merits it on the day.

The Show Committee is grateful to Oaklands for their continued generosity and hopefully there will be a good entry across all classes on the day.

The Committee will continue the special offer on multiple entries in adult classes. The normal fee is €3 per entry with a special offer of 4 entries for €10. It is hoped that this will encourage entries and result in a bigger and brighter array of produce and crafts on the day.

The Committee is also appealing to all the bakers out there to support our show as entries in this area have declined in recent years. Homemade baking donations are also required for the country market and can be handed into the Community Centre on Sunday morning. Show entry forms and entry forms for the “Pirates or Fairies” or “Things that make me smile” art competition are available at Banteer Post Office or from Juliet O’ Donoghue, Cois Doire, Banteer West, Banteer, phone (029) 56944. Entries & exhibits can be handed into Banteer Community Centre on Saturday night, 14th July at 8 p.m. or on Sunday morning, July 15h before 11 a.m. We would urge exhibitors to get there early on Sunday morning to avoid the entry queues or alternatively, to submit show entries in advance.

Outdoors, attractions will include the amazing 30ft Spider Climber with slide, 60ft obstacle course, super slide, bouncy castle and outdoor music. Other activities include a dog show, hook a duck, soccer challenge, pony rides and much more.

Admission is free on the day and all proceeds go towards the annual upkeep of Banteer Community Centre. 5km Fun run also. For a great family day out come along to Banteer Show.
