LACKEEL CEMETERY

As you may have noticed there is quite a lot of activity around Lackeel Cemetery. Work has begun to erect gates and pillars on the entrance and the site itself has been very much cleared. These gates are over 100 years old and have been restored to their original state. We hope for an official opening sometime around August and we will keep you informed once the dates are arranged. We would like to thank IRD Duhallow for their support in this.

PLAYGROUND

A grant has been received from Cork County Council to upgrade the playground adjacent to the community centre. This work will commence in the near future and it will improve this facility significantly. Can we please ask that people using the playground are mindful to keep it tidy. There is a notice on the gate in relation to this and we would ask that people appreciate that the upkeep is on a voluntary basis. Now that the Summer holidays are upon us we expect the playground to be extra busy so please keep it in a condition that we would like to find it.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

Work will be commencing in the near future also on a new roof for the community centre. This is much needed and we would ask patrons to show patience and understanding while the work is progressing.
