‘ONE FOR THE ROAD’ WITH BAGATELLE AT THE INEC
VETERAN Irish favourites Bagatelle, who will bring their ‘One For the Road’ tour to the Gleneagle Ballroom in Killarney on Friday evening at 9.30pm.
Having competed what was billed as their final tour in 2016, the band bowed to public demand and decided to go back on the road for one final swansong and a series of occasional gigs.
Bagatelle have earned themselves a worthy spot in the pantheon of Irish musical greats, with six number one singles and multi-platinum album sales.

JACK L LINED UP FOR GIGS AT FOTA AND CLONAKILTY
IRISH crooner Jack L will play back-to-back gigs at Fota House and De Barra’s in Clonakilty this coming Saturday and Sunday night.
One of Ireland’s most respected singers, Jack Lukeman has a voice once famously described by The Guardian as “a mixture of all the great voices of the 20th Century”.

SOUL DIVA CHRISTIANA AND BAND AT THE LANE
SOUL songstress Christiana Underwood will play a free late-night gig with her new band at Cork’s Crane Lane Theatre on Sunday evening.
The daughter of Karen ‘ The Chicago Diva’ Karen Underwood, Christiana is well-known around Cork music circles in her own right having performed with a number of acts including The Light Runners, She Said and Karen Underwood’s Gospel Trio.
She has also collaborated with other acts including Gary McCarthy (GMC, Kalabanx, Red FM’s Stevie G and producer Ian Ring ( Young Wonder).
Along with her band, comprised of friends from around Cork City, Christiana will perform covers of silky soul jams by neo-soul queens and kings of the 90’s to present day and some of her own compositions.
‘ALL FOR ME GROG’ AT THE SIRIUS ARTS CENTRE
THE music, songs and stories of The Dubliners will be brought to life at the Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh on Friday night by The Liberties with their wonderful ‘All For Me Grog’ show.
In replicating the original line-up of Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna, Ciaran Burke and John Sheehan with the same instrumentation, songs and vocals the band bring to the stage a show of uncanny similarity to the original Dubliners.
The ‘Black Velvet Band’, ‘McAlpines Fusiliers’, ‘ The Spanish Lady’ and the song that made The Dubliners international stars - ‘Seven Drunken Night’s’, will have the audiences stomping their feet and singing along during this uplifting two-hour show.

CORONAS TO BRING DOWN CURTAIN AT THE MARQUEE
THE 2018 Live at the Marquee music and comedy festival will draw to another close this weekend with gigs on Friday night and Saturday night by The Coronas.
The band are no strangers to The Marquee, having sold out gigs at the Docklands venue each year since 2012, their infectious sound making them one of the annual highlights of the event.
Since forming in 2003 the band has release five top selling albums, spawning a clutch of singles that have been on the play-lists of radio stations across the country.

CORK RACECOURSE READY TO ROCK ON FRIDAY NIGHT
THE Cork Racecourse will be rocking to the sound of some of Ireland’s top music acts during a summer spectacular at the Mallow venue on Friday night.
The racing and music worlds will come together for one night at the racecourse, with an evening featuring a top class card of national hunt racing with the first race going to post at 5.45pm.
Once the final race is over the stage will be set for ‘Cork Rocks’, a musical extravaganza featuring live performances by an exciting mix of acts including Gina, Dale Haze and the Conquerors, Deuces Wild and Handipak and headliner Little Hours.

‘VISIONS OF HALF-LIGHT’ AT MACROOM TOWN HALL
AN exhibition currently taking at Macroom Town Hall Gallery is showcasing the work of a trio of talented Cork artists will run right through until the end of the month.
Its title, ‘Visions of Half-Light’, is reference to the fact that the exhibits encapsulate the state that occurs in the natural landscape at down and dusk when the changing light can make images distorted, disturbed or disrupted.
It will incorporate screen prints and sculptures by Macroom artist Debbie Godsell and Crawford College graduate Fiona Kelly sculptured works using recycled materials by award-winning artist Sarah O’Flaherty.
Supported by Cork County Council’s Arts Office, the exhibition is part of a project aimed at promoting professional artist in rural Cork venues.
CORK ARTS THEATRE TO HOST SEVEN AGES OF MAM
THE Cork Art Theatre’s lunchtime and supper series of plays is continuing this week with performances of Mark Evan’s though-provoking play ‘Seven Ages of Mam’.
Starring Pauline O’Driscoll, the one woman show see an Irish mother reminisce about her life dividing into similar ages by recalling key events, including gaining the title ‘Mam’.
At times comic, at other times deeply poignant the play explores the lengths people will go to in order to discover and, just as importantly, hang onto their identity.
Mark Evans is the author of two novels ‘Mrs God’ and ‘Mrs God Trilogy’ and a number of award-winning plays that have graced the stage of the Cork Arts Theatre.

WIZARD OF OZ AT THE CORK OPERA HOUSE
Following on from sold out production of the musical ‘Annie’ last summer, the Cork Opera House will kick-off this years seasonal offering ‘ The Wizard of Oz’ next Thursday night (July 19).
Internationally acclaimed director Wayne Jordan (ProdiJIG 2016/2017), will lead audiences the Yellow Brick Road on a magical adventure as the team create a new version of this enchanting tale of magic and fantasy, good and evil, and above all friendship.

PURE BLUEGRASS AT THE VILLAGE ARTS CENTRE
BLUEGRASS band The McLain Family from Kentucky will play the Village Arts Centre in Kilworth next Monday evening.
Regarded as one of America’s most exciting, creative and spirited contemporary Appalachian bluegrass groups, the band is this year celebrating 50-years on the road. During their career that have played in every state of the US and 62 countries during 14 international tours.
