Preparations continue for an equestrian spectacular

THE Duggan Family and the Millstreet team are preparing for an action-packed August, as the Green Glens Arena prepares to host a wide range of top-level show-jumping and eventing fare.

The world-renowned Millstreet International Horse Show (CSI2*) returns to its traditional dates for 2018.

It gets underway on Wednesday, August 15, and it will culminate to the prestigious Grand Prix event, taking place on Sunday, August 19.

It’s a terrific boom to the Millstreet economy, and the picturesque complex is looking better than ever.

This is because the energetic Duggan family and team have combined to develop further improvements within the grounds.

As always, there is something for everyone in the schedule, with classes ranging from 1.28m ponies up to the 1.45m International Grand Prix level.

Young Horse championships take pride of place in the timetable again, of course, with the finals of the ‘Young Irelander’ (for three-year-olds) and ‘National Discovery’ (for four-yearolds) competitions occupying their traditional Friday and Saturday evening slots in the Indoor Arena.

Once again, these classes, along with the feature competitions in the International Arena, will be live-streamed to a global audience, providing a good opportunity to Millstreet.

Meanwehile, some of the world’s top-ranking event riders are heading to the Green Glens Arena and adjoining Drishane Castle Demesne from August 22 to 26 as Millstreet plays host to a leg of the 2018 FEI Eventing Nations Cup.
