Mixed results for local hurling teams

BALLYGIBLI­N hurlers were narrowly beaten by 3-13 to 2-12 by Harbour Rovers in the Cavanagh’s Fermoy Division One Hurling League semi-final in Kilworth.

Ballygibli­n started without some key players but were ahead at the break 1-7 to 1- 6. Harbour Rovers scored goals at vital stages in the second half and emerged winners by a four-point margin.

The Ballygibli­n team was: Christophe­r Noonan, Diarmuid Lynch, Fionn Herlihy, Paul Seymour, Brian O’Gorman, Barry Coffey (0-3, 0-1f. 0-1 ‘65’), James Mullins, Eoin Burke, Lorcan Finn, Seamus Barrett, Pa Molloy (1-0), Cathal O’Sullivan (0-4, 0-3f ) Dylan Reidy-Price, Michael Walsh (0-1), Cathal O’Mahony (1-1). Subs used were: Dean Barry for Lorcan Finn; Shane Beston (0-2) for Dylan Reidy-Price; Dylan Reidy-Price for Seamus Barrett; George Pendle (0-1f ) for Michael Walsh.

Kildorrery hurlers were in action in minor and under-21 during. The minor hurlers lost out to Buttevant in the Rebel Óg semi-final in Killavulle­n on Tuesday. They trailed 3-8 to 0-5 at half-time. Kildorrery made a great recovery in the second half and were unlucky to lose out by 3-13 to 2-14.

Their line-out was: Fionan Walsh- O’Grady, Richard Hurley (0-1), Mattie Walsh- O’Grady, Niall Higgins, Timmy O’Sullivan, Anthony Crowley, David Hunter, Kieran Hurley (0-1), Kevin Noonan, Edmund O’Regan, Paddy Pigott (0-1), Michael Caplice, Paddy Hartnett (1-0), Cathal Harrington (0-10, 0-8f ), Sean Cunningham. Subs used were: Sean Watson for Michael Caplice; Dylan McSweeney (1-1) for Edmund O’Regan; Declan Mullins for Paddy Hartnett; Michael Caplice for Kieran Hurley.

The under-21 B hurlers were in action in the championsh­ip against Clyda Rovers. Following a tough struggle, Kildorrery eventually won out by 1-17 to 1-14. The Kildorrery line-out was: Cathal Walsh- Grady, Mattie Walsh- O’Grady, Ian Butler, Tony Watson, Niall Higgins, Dylan Kent (0-4), John Hunter, Paddy Hartnett, P J Keating (0-1), Kevin Noonan (0-1), James Keating (0-2, 0-1f ) Kieran Hurley (0-2), Timmy O’Sullivan, Cathal Harrington (0-6, 0-4f ) Sean Cunningham (0-1).

Richie Hurley (1-0) came on for Timmy O’Sullivan.
