HERITAGE GROUP

Buttevant Heritage Group has organised a comprehensive programme of events for their summer season. The annual guided tours of the town have recommenced since Saturday June 16th. 2018 and will continue until Saturday August 25th inclusive. There will be a photographic exhibition of pre-1970-photographs and records in the Muintir na Tire Hall during the month of August 2018 depicting Buttevant in days’ gone by.

The heritage group is also up-dating its website with relative information and is also up-dating its’ mediaeval map of Buttevant which will be activated in due course.

TWINNING

Following the recent visit by a group from Plourivo, Brittany, France reportidly the group were quite pleased with their welcome. During the past week the group has visited other areas of Cork County and will return for a final farewell to Buttevant this Friday evening August 10th before returning to their native habitat. Hopefully these visits will be more regular as they might nurture some tourism industrial or commercial developments between both communities.

LOTTERY

Buttevant Soccer Club promotes a weekly local lottery draw to help finance the clubs’ expenses and activities. The winning or sharing of the substantial monetary jackpot rests on the choice of four lucky numbers to match the four lucky numbers drawn on draw night. The lottery jackpot now stands at €20,000 and will continue to rise until won by some lucky entrant. The draw takes place weekly on Thursday night at an appointed local public venue.. Your support is greatly appreciated.

BINGO

The weekly bingo session continues in Buttevant on Monday night in the local G.A.A. Hall with numerous monetary prizes to be won. There is a substantial bingo jackpot to be won as well as an in-house lottery and an extra sheet game. There is also 50/50- draw for attendees. The bingo jackpot is now approaching €5700 and will continue to be raised if not won until some lucky player strikes gold. The games get under at 8.30p.m.
