Hurlers exit Senior championship
KANTURK made their exit from the Cork SHC at round two after succumbing to a more lively and experienced Bishopstown side on a 1-12 to 1-19 score line.
Bishopstown always held sway in this round two tie and while Kanturk can look back on the missed chances, with 13 wides in the opening half alone, and a number of goal chances in both halves, the city side held sway over the hour and were full value for their win.
Kanturk now turn attention to their Premier Intermediate Football round two tie against Castletownbere at Cill na Martra which is down for this Saturday 18th August at 6.45pm. Kanturk will be hoping any players carrying knocks since last week’s hurling tie will be recovered and able for action.
Both sides met in the first round of the Intermediate championship in 2012 with Kanturk edging the tie and another close tie is expected on this occasion.
