W.M.O.F 18 OPENING CEREMONY

Most Reverend Bishop William Crean will celebrate the World Meeting of Families in an opening Ceremony in St. Colman’s Cathedral Cobh, on this Tuesday August 21 at 7.30pm All Dioceses will join the Cloyne Diocese to celebrate this event . All parishes are asked to ring their church bells at this time to commemorate this great occasion. The Cloyne Diocesan Choir, who will be performing in Dublin later that week will sing in the Cathedral that night. All are welcome and refreshments will be served

FAMILY FUN DAY IN G.A.A. GROUNDS

A great day out was had by all who attended the annual family fun day in Clondrohid last weekend. Racing, running, cycling, penalty shoot outs, horse shoe throwing, buy a bun or biscuit and then decorate it was a treat, the burgers were a big take in another part of the field .bouncing castles, just to mention a few were all on offer. Peter Lane did an excellent job on the sound system A great raffle with all prizes donated. Thanks to Tim and Mary Lyons for the juvenile goal posts. Thanks to all who helped in any way to run this event, and to all who donated prizes.

SPECIAL BINGO NIGHT

Back to School Bingo Night Wednesday August 22 in Clondrohid Community Hall at 8.30pm. Guaranteed Minimum Jackpot of €250, must go on the night. Total Cash Prizes of €1,500. Raffle, a great nights entertainment for all . Mark it in your diary

CARRIGANIMA FUN RUN/WALK

This annual event will take place this year on Saturday Sept 1 at 3.30pm. Registration will take place in the Pub from 2.30pm. All funds go to Macroom and Millstreet hospitals. Music, refreshments and raffle will take place in the pub after the event.. All are welcome. Support your local community.

Macroom Credit Union are offering a bursary of €1,000 to 1 student in each of the following schools De La Salle Macroom, St. Mary’s Macroom, McEgan College Macroom, Coachford College, Colaiste Ghobnatan Ballyvourney, Scoil Mhuire Ballingeary.
