DUHALLOW FINAL

On this Saturday, September 1, Boherbue Junior A footballers travel to Cullen where they play Dromtariffe in the Duhallow final, a contest eagerly awaited by the Gaels of Duhallow. Boher won this title last year defeating Knocknagree in a replay at Kanturk and this year have added some new blood to the squad.

Simply, because they hold the title of champions, they will start as favourites – but remember, it’s a final and Dromtariffe won’t be travelling just to make up the numbers. They parade and one managed by some seasoned campaigners and decades ago there was an old saying about Dromtarriffe and it still applies in my book – you have to be twice as good as them to beat them. They have the tradition and opponents might do well to reflect on that. Best of luck, lads.
