Five trophies at top table proof of club’s success

-

MACROOM Ladies Football Club held its ‘Ladies Late Lunch’ fundraiser in the Castle Hotel in Macroom on Friday.

This event proved to be an unprecedented success which is good news for the club as it is the main fundraiser for the year. One down side to the increased success of the club is the associated increase in expenses, so the organising committee were hoping for a successful night and thankfully weren’t disappointed with a fine attendance.

On arrival the guests were treated to a champagne reception in the hotel lobby where the ladies gathered for the evening’s events.

Pride of place in the function room was a table with five silver cups which represented the club’s unprecedented success in recent times. The function room was beautifully decorated for the night. Some fine style was on show as all the ladies attending were all very elegantly dressed.

A fashion show kept the guests entertained during the meal with displays provided by The Gay Girl Boutique, The Webb Boutique and TM Cronin’s. Thanks to Frances, Eileen and Miriam for their assistance in a brilliant fashion show which was compered very professionally by Club Secretary Noelle Kelleher and Eileen O’Mahony.

There were spot prizes galore during the night and the club would like to thank all sponsors, too numerous to mention.

Following the meal, the guests danced the night away with the DJ who kept things rocking till late. Thanks go to Margaret Buckley and her staff in the Castle Hotel for a beautiful meal and to all the ladies who bought tickets for the night.
