Noah recognised by Woman’s Way and Pharmaton
THE Woman’s Way and Pharmaton Children’s Awards winners were announced yesterday, October 1 at a special lunch at The Hive in Airfield Estate. The awards were supported by Pharmaton to find Ireland’s bravest and most courageous children. Each winner walked away with a luxury goodie bag worth at least €500.
Hundreds of nominations were submitted by parents, relatives, friends, teachers and communities from all over Ireland. The judging panel of well-known Irish personalities had the daunting task of sifting through all the entries to whittle them down to category winners.
Social media star Noah Myers (7) from Mitchelstown was recognised. The humble star of family blog ‘Our Wheely Big Journey’, Noah has captured the hearts of over 7,000 Facebook fans and over 4,500 Instagram followers – and that’s not counting the people who read the blog daily. He is a full-time wheelchair user and was born with Escobar Syndrome. The blog was started to show that a physical disability doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy life. When he grows up, Noah wants to be a famous YouTuber.
Emeka Maduka of Pharmaton said: “We are delighted to partner with Woman’s Way for the second year of their Children’s Awards. It’s such an honour for Pharmaton to give parents, relatives, friends, charities and community groups the opportunity to recognise and reward Irish children’s bravery and acknowledge the support of their families and communities. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the winners and those nominated.’’
“Congratulations to our 2018 winners,” said editor Áine Toner. “They have shown resilience in the face of adversity and have handled more than most adults. Their determination and courage shines through and we are delighted to be able to reward them. Thanks must also be given to everyone who nominated and to those nominated – you are examples of how tenacious our young people are.”
