A superb for clubs and schools on local GAA front
KILDORRERY Junior B 2 footballers breached a 35-year gap when they were winners over Buttevant in the Ballylough Milling final at Castletownroche on Sunday. Kildorrery dominated all through and were 3-9 to 0-1 ahead at the break. The trend was much the same in the second half. In the end they emerged champions by 4- 17 to 0- 4.
Scorers for Kildorrery were: Andrew O’Brien (2-6, 0-3f ), James Magnier (1-4), Johnny McCarthy (1-3), Eugene Sweeney (0-1), Jerry McCarthy (0-1), David Harrington (0-1), David Kelly (0-1).

Mitchelstown CBS had a close 3-15 to 2-12 win over Kinsale Community School in the Munster Under-16-and-a-half C Hurling Championship at Carrigaline on Monday. At halftime CBS led 2-11 to 0-7. Kinsale came back very strong in the second half, and it was 2-11 to 0-11 by the 50th minute. In the end CBS won out by 3- 15 to 2-12. Mitchelstown Intermediate footballers had a close 1- 17 to 2- 12 win over Youghal in the Intermediate Football Chapionship at Ballynoe. ‘ Town’ led 1-8 to 1- 4 at half-time. Youghal did well on the changeover, but a late rally saw Mitchesltown hold out for a county semi-final with Cill na Marthra this Sunday in Mourneabbey.
